If you're up on CGC history, my friend Gary and I got the very first 10.0 from CGC back in May of 2000. It was the Venom Lethal Protector #1 black cover variant. He still has the

book. We had several articles written about us at the time in Wizard, Comics Buyer's Guide and even in the CGC pamphlet printed back then.

I just did my first submission to CGC. One of the books I sent in was my Invincible #1 and I got a 9.8. I'm really stoked. I'm still waiting on the other books I sent in.

The first book I have ever submitted to CGC was my first-print Dark Knight Returns #1 (bought at cover price when it was originally sold back in 1985).

Before submitting, I knew that Klaus Janson was signing at a nearby small comic convention. I got the signature and it was witnessed by an authorized CGC witness. While waiting on line for the signature, the witness mentioned that Frank Miller just happens to be doing a signing at CGC the following week and I might just make it under the wire if I submitted it for a Signature Series Frank Miller signing. What serendipity! Anyway, I got both Klaus Janson and Frank Miller from separate signings and had it graded where I got a CGC Signature Series 9.8!

The book is prominently displayed on my bookshelf and I will continue to cherish it…not just for the nostalgia, but for how I got both Janson and Miller to get it signed and graded even though they were signing at different times and at separate locations!

Killing joke in my experience is a tough 9.8. That back cover gets me me every time

James you should do a video on the most unusual and cool crossovers. Batman meets Elmer Fudd, Spider-Man meets Superman, the nestly quick bunny meets Superman the punisher meets Archie all the cool crossovers. I know you know what they are and you should tell us what they are.

Fun list James - always cool to hear what works (and especially what doesn't work) for you.

I just sent my omega men 3, DKR 1, secret wars 8, and watchmen 1 in for cleaning/pressing/grading. Fingers crossed!

Killing Joke is tricky because of the glossy black back cover.
If you look at that back cover in the glare of light you may see a bunch of little scratches.
At least that was how it was on my copy that I had from back in the day.
I never read my copy. I just kept it in a backing board in mylar for 30 some years.
Then I submitted it to cgc (pre-screen 9.8) and it did not make the 9.8.
I feel like it was because of the little scratches on the back that were unnoticeable until you looked at it in the glare.

I love your videos! Have you ever done a video about the pros and cons of the applications and web services available for keeping track of your comic book collection and its value?

Agreed with all of this especially that web 118 is very tough to get the 9.8. I find this book more often then not has staple tears too!
