  New Mutants #98.  When you take into account the print run and how many are graded (and graded at 9.8); no way that should be as expensive as it is.

  I have a problem with Daredevil #1 (which I have a copy of). DD is on the cover being pushed to the side by images of both Spidey AND the FF... and they aren't even featured in the comic! Turning the debut of a cool new hero into an ad for already popular heroes doesn't show much faith in Ol' Hornhead.

  Iron Man #1 is the only one of these I personally own (a real low grade one).  I own it, because I wanted a complete set of Iron Man comics.

  Hulk 6 holds the value not because of any key factors in the story, more for it being the last of the original 6 Hulks.  It's very important to Hulk fans.

  I just don't get the appeal of variants, whether it's different artists, newsstand vs. direct, or different cover prices like Marvel had on some titles back in the 1970s.  It's like people aren't even concerned about the quality of the art and story inside.

  The issue with the anatomy on IM 1 is that Gene Colan's pencils were so so complex in shading, many inkers had trouble inking them...the same thing happened on Marvel Super-Heroes12...1st White/Greem Captain Marvel. Very wacky thigh muscles.

  NOTHING  published after 1980 is a huge key people should care about,  they are common as dirt in high grade,  with a few exceptions like turtles

  I agree with you on ASM 1. Great book, but overvalued vs. other early Marvel keys.

  With 35k, you could buy every copy of Illustrated History of Horses, which I must now hunt for as well, or just go to New Jersey to your booth.

  Heloo. I have arrived from the future to comment on the X-Men #94 entry specifically. I can speak for only myself, but as an Uncanny X-Men collector, the 2nd appearances are ALMOST an afterthought when considering the significance of this book. Like you said, it was the beginning of the reign of Claremont...it was also the series' resurrection. The reprint era kept it on life support, but this was like a new #1, something it would absolutely have been nowadays.
