Great compilation! These are the years they NEVER EVER showed when showing clips of him. This is Mr. Brown at the forefront of funk.

There will never be another one even close to the raw power , energy and pure originality that was James Brown .  He was the mold ,  and others made careers using some of or all of his playbook.

The best band ever assembled! Absolutely the Truth, nobody ever tried to copy them, because they couldn’t be copied.😊

Low down dirty, nasty, stanking funk by James Brown and the JB’s! The Greatest of all Time! ❤

I’ve always given it to Fred Thomas for having to come in on bass after that of William “Bootsy” Collins in the same year, he truly showed his professionalism and precision as a bass player, and that he could be funky too! From 1972 onward he would come into his own  putting his feel on JBs music but I would imagine 1971 was a hard year for him playing someone else’s groove/bass line.

Can't speak for anybody else, but this video just triggered my household funk alarm and the funk meter needle is off the charts with a relentless, steadfast down beat emphasis on The One.
