An avoidant at war with himself, cannot be at peace with anyone else. Excellent point!

Regardless, it’s not worth the trouble with an avoidant . Get out if you are able. Protect yourself

Exactly, it's like she's wearing a mask 🎭 even on social media. Crazy.

It literally is like dating a 2 year old child - emotionally. Imagine losing your job you’re on the couch stunned, concerned, scared, nervous. What will they do? They will get cold, distant and likely run away. Literally. You expected reassurance, care but instead they walk out on you. That is what dating an avoidant is like.

I say, "They didn't love me. It was all a lie BUT I know my worth. I know I deserve better." For me, love is an action. I don't care what they feel in their head. If I am giving love and not receiving love, peace out.

I’m at 24 months without my ex Avoidant and I’m doing really well. I haven’t reached out to her for almost 8 months now. I was not phone blocked when I went no contact but I might be now. Who knows and who cares. We were trying to work it out but the same old problems started and they came in quick this time. I guess I just had it with her. I asked to go for a cup of coffee and she said “ I’ll pass thanks” for some reason I was just done. I never reached out again. She never contacted me. You’ll see that trying to be with an Avoidant is a waste of time. They don’t love you , because they don’t love anyone including themselves.

I only figured out the woman from my LDR had avoidant tendencies after she ended it. Went back and self reflected (her warning signs were there after it was to late) and figured out what I should have done differently after being constantly confused by what she was telling me. I miss her and still beat myself up over it 5 weeks since being blocked but I didn't know what an avoidant person was before we met so I can't be too hard on myself. But then I think, I would be fighting a constant up hill battle if she ever reached out, knowing she hasn't self reflected a day in her life probably. I would be trying so hard to make it work and for what? I know it wouldn't be enough and things would just end the same way because they have to know what their issues are and she doesn't.

Point is I have to stop beating myself up and finally stop thinking of her and stop thinking about what I would have done differently if I had known what I was dealing with in the moment. I'm sure she's perfectly fine anyway.

LDR's or not, discards from avoidant's are no joke. Every day gets a bit easier.

Haven't talked to her in months. You shouldn't ignore discussing the low interest dismissive avoidant.

Here's a tidbit. While we were dating she rarely posted on SM, once or twice in 5 months. 4 months after she ghosted me she's back, stronger than ever. Posting everyday, best life!, working out! Food! yes, she's back!!

I wish I had access to this information 25 years ago when I met my last "true love". She was beautiful & complex ; Little did I know what was behind the complexity. As time passed, all of the classic indicators surfaced. I still loved her, then the discard & I felt suckerpunched.I submerged myself into intense unconventional therapy called "Pathwork " & it changed my perspective. Time passed & we eventually reconnected for a 14 year roller coaster ride. I'm not sure she ever did any internal work although she confessed that I actually really helped her in some way. Eventually, I just discarded her as she did to me many years earlier & I never looked back except to reflect upon the entire experience. Karma is a bitch & we both received it in one another. Life can be a complex puzzle to figure out & once assembled, what do we have ?
