Why are stone age people always shown as unkempt? Animals are not unkempt unless they are sick, and these were successful, intelligent people capable of crafting very ingenious tools. I can't help feeling that these people would have looked fit healthy and well presented.

Outstanding documentary. I'm finding myself mourning an ancient people and their lost ways. The evidence has brought their existence into our consciousness to stay.

Very interesting. There is a Forest at cresswell Northumberland beach, you can walk amongst the tree stumps at a low low tide. It stretches right out under the sea. It's magical.

We've seen ourselves that when the sea has flooded the areas around The Wash, no crops can be grown for years until the salt has leached out of the soil. A tsunami would have killed off all Doggerland vegetation and any mammals left alive would have no grass or crops to sustain life.

Just imagine what's down there beneath the waves, the treasures that we will likely never find?!. The human stories of the people of Doggerland?. It's just mesmerising to think how much we don't know about the humans who existed before us, how they lived, what they ate, what religion guided them through life, how they raised their children, what their everyday lives were like.

The human story is by far the most fascinating, mysterious and never ending tale!.

Amazing. Even today the sea eats of the danish westcoast. In one small town at the coast near Hirtshals I talked to an old man sitting by a church on the way to slide down to the ocean. The man was about 90 it’s 35 years ago. He told me when he was a kid he was tending cattle on fields now when he was 90 10 km out to sea. I was in chock . 10 km is pretty much

I grew up as a youngster in Scheveningen, a fishing town close to The Hague. Most fishermen knew about the Dogger Bank where fish were plenty full in the early 1950s. The story of the harpoon has been told, retold many times. When the Dutch replenished their beaches in a major sand dredging exercise, other pre historic items were similarly recovered.

Those ice caps melting 10-12ooo years ago probably killed off alot of our history since people tend to live on coastlines for food. Our bodies like the omega 3s that seafood and eggs provide. A shame most things except stone monuments would have been lost quickly due to the salty waters and sealife devouring everything. Even bones are quickly destroyed in the sea.
