This video was written by AI not a by a person with a real understanding of optimal attic design. For a cooler house attics should have open ventilation instead of being sealed. The insulation in the attic should be on top of the ceiling not under the roof. The perforated reflective foil should be on top of the insulation not just under the roof. Rockwool insulation is better than fiberglass insulation because fiberglass insulation draws moisture while rockwool insulation repels it. A house with white or silver colored metal roofing will last longer and reflect more heat than asphalt singles. Having OSB or plywood sheathing under the metal roofing will make it nearly as quiet in the rain as asphalt singles and make it hail resistant.

The information is basically sound, they’ve made a few blips, but the most hilarious part is reading all of the callouts and captions in the artwork. Every now and then they accidentally come up with an actual word, but this is almost like a comedy routine looking at all of the completely invented words in the artwork.

I’ve noticed that in FL, where humidity is persistently high above 50%RH day in & day out, if you install passive vents in your garage & place a $20 window fan in your garage attic access, timed to run 15 minutes/hr that when the attic temperature rises to 100 degrees, the humidity drops to from garage 88 degrees, 70%RH to 104 degrees & 56%RH by noon.  It’s evident that the RH drops because it becomes lighter than air & must escape through the Ridge vents to join the clouds above.

I put a Solar Barrier attached to the rafters on the inside of my attic on the roof 15 years ago.  Two $150 rolls from Home Depot. It DROPPED the temperature in my 2nd floor 15 degrees in two days. Took me two days, by my lonesome to install it. Electric stapler, attached to the underside. AND YOU FEEL IT IMMEDIATELY.  AMAZING and NO ONE KNOWS.

I'm going to try this out. Best regards from Germany.

First problem in Canada, houses have no rafters most if the time, building codes are made by people who don't know how to build safe houses ! Our building codes allow for trusses, the worst system to use for a home, you have no useable attic and when your place burns down, the firefighters  cannot enter this space to fight your fire ! Also your area might also allow ABS vent pipes that are made of a material that burns like gasoline ! Canadian building codes are far behind over the years!  Believe me, I build houses in Canada for over 50 years, in between a half year in Romania for 6 months in Germany, using rafters again! With having rafters you gat a free space, used for living or storage space, you can insulate your roof the way it should and you can park your car now in you garage instead of using it for storage space !

AI or not, this stuff works. I just simply rolled it out over the Pink stuff in a friends attic years ago, very simple no staples, she called me the next day and said her A/C unit was cycling and it never did that on our Hot Texas days, she was SO Happy and it was cheap. Thanks for the Video

My kitchen with a seperat attic space was unbearable in weather extremes.  Even after i removed the can lights, foam insulation injected onto walls and proper venting.   I got an outrageous estimate  for a seperate ac unit and decided on a budger of a 3d of that cost could be used to do a radiant barrier, rockwool insulation and fix leaks with spray foam.   It was done correctly and reults have been fantastic. There is a science and ivolves other things , Fixing holes, correct vent sise in and out and properly imstalled insulation. Good luck out there

Everyone is saying put the shiny side down in the attic which is the opposite. Think of a sun shield for your windshield. You put it shiny side up.
