Thanks for breaking this down so clearly. Iโm 62 and paid into CPP most of my life, but during COVID our solar business collapsed and we ended up closing it. We survived by selling our farm equipment and eventually had to sell the farm too. Those were tough years with no CPP contributions, so I wondered how this would affect my pension at 65.

Your explanation really helped. Itโs good to know that those low-income years donโt destroy your CPP, and that going back to work in 2026 will actually improve things a little. Appreciate the way you explain these changes in plain language โ it makes a big difference for people trying to rebuild their lives.

Thanks again for the clarity. Keep these videos coming

You are absolutely right. CPP should be passed onto your spouse

I agree, plan should continue on for family after dealth. Also 2 percent increase is a joke for cost of living. Not just inflation, but all costs

I don't think CPP should be taxed. We already paid as taxes that is our retirement money.

The government deserves NONE of our CPP. Just we and our employer contribute. Itโs none of the governmentโs business.

You are so correct. Money put in by parents etc. should be passed back to family, which could be covered in a will. After all they worked for it, were taxed for and should rightfully be treated as their money when they pass on! It does not belong to the government! Think how much money the Government saves because people die early and never collect all of their money back!

I totally agree that the money from CPP shouldn't disappear upon death. The spouse and family members all contributed to the family and should reap the benefits.

When you're at the grocery store it doesn't seem like inflation is coming down. It's certainly a lot more than the 2% the government calculates.

100% agree with you that when you pass you should have the ability to pass the money onto your family / spouce

Totally agree. If I passed away my wife would get nothing. We both worked all our lives. The CPP contributions took money each paycheck away from our family. To not roll it over to the surviving spouse is theft plain and simple.

Valid point, we pay into it all our life, it is our money, and we should be given the asset at death to pass on to our beneficiaries not be given to the government.
