Everything is based on your health, take it when you think you need it.

I grabbed it immediately. Postponing could seem cool but past 60 you don't really know what life has in its bag for you next.

no one knows when their time is up... that reason alone tells me to take it at 60 when I retire.

It’s interesting that all the so‑called “experts” never mention a simple fact: if you take CPP early, you start receiving money sooner, and that money can be deposited into your RRSP and invested. Even with zero investment return, the accumulated capital from those early CPP payments creates a break‑even point just before your 80s compared to waiting until 65. This part of the math is almost always ignored.

I’ve had several male freinds pass between 57- 64. Taking mine at 64 in case something sneaks up on me. You feel healthy until you don’t…

Took mine at 60 and use it to max out my TFSA in an investment account, based on my TFSA return so far at about 11% by the time I reach 70 God willing I should have over 200k tax free just from my CPP based contributions. After 40 years of contributions why let the government hang on to your money for an extra 10 years. If you croak early all you get is a $2500 death benefit.

$1,507.00 won't even cover half the months rent in Guelph.
