Very, very helpful!
I'm a vacuum tube guy trying to understand transistors, be them a BJT, FET, JFET, MOSFET... and the others.
I've never heard BJTs described this way before. It's a lot of food for thought.

Thank you!

I've done a lot of work in electrical circuits, but thanks to you, today I found out (basically) how an air-conditioner works! Very simply explained. Thanks!

This is not only a great explanation for something that I always found vaguely confusing but is one of the best explanations of how a transistor works. This gentleman has a brilliant way of explaining things, taking small, logical steps to make each concept clear before moving on to the next idea. Anybody that wants to teach should study the techniques displayed in these videos.

Simpler example: put your thumb on a garden hose and try to control the current. Easy. Now I’ll try to control the pressure in the hose with your thumb and you don’t have any control.

The conventional viewpoint has bugged me for years, so it's nice to see someone articulating what I'd thought all along and caused me a lot of self-doubt. Nice summary.

Physics dictates that BJTs function as voltage-controlled current source devices (NOT current-controlled) just like FETs.
A voltage applied to BE generates an emitter current, and since the base region is so thin, most of this current is collected by the collector region.
The h-parameter model was largely phased out decades ago because it lacked a direct connection to the underlying physics of the transistor.
The concept for the FET predated the BJT, but technical limitations meant practical applications were unfeasible; no viable applications could be realized at the time.

This kind of content should be recorded on celuloid film and stored in mountain vaults far north for future generation to recover skills after we nuke ourselves.

Can't have voltage without current and can't have change of current into a static resistance without changing voltage. Nice vid.
