It’s tough to be a small business owner in a economy where consumers don’t have the disposable income to spend at your small business

The problem isn’t entrepreneurship it’s stupidity and a lack of financial sense

It took 6 years of working my full time job and running my business before I was able to go full time in my business. Now instead of one boss, I have a dozen bosses at any given time. 😂

My uncle owned a successful cleaning company for 25yrs. He also made some good BBQ. He belived everyone's hype about the BBQ. After Six months and $100k he gets the doors open. It went good for 3 months. He didn't know sh!t about running a restaurant. The BBQ wasn't as good as he thought. Just because you can run one kind of business, that doesn't mean you can run a different kind of business

They really thought running a business was sweet. You don’t clock out when you own a business. You’re locked in 24/7.

If you found a hack to make 5k a month, you're not going to tell other people and create competition.

I own a small specialized technology business. We started in 2006 and have been profitable every year since the beginning. No debt. No government contracts. Very low employee turnover because they are well-treated and well-compensated. We survived through two recessions and there were occasionally times when I could not pay myself anything because the employees and the vendors always get paid first. If there was nothing leftover for me, I didn't get paid. During 2008-10 there were plenty of times I spent all day and night working in a small office to keep the business alive. It was difficult, but it all paid off. Over the years I and my employees have done very well for ourselves. Business is difficult, and it's not for everyone. There is a lot of advice I could offer a prospective entrepreneur (if anyone asked) but if I had to pick just one thing it would be this: before you start any business, first go and work for an existing business in that field for two years. No matter what it is, get to know that business from the inside before you start one of your own.
