  My friend and I were actually talking about our separate experiences visiting the memorial. So saddening, it’s was tough to see many of the images. Our agreed takeaway, was the world can never forget how devastating it was and how the world needs to remember how horrible war and nuclear weapons are.

  Thank you for the video.  Visited Hiroshima last October.  It was a great visit.  There were a lot of school groups.  Everyone was respectful and polite.  it surely is a sacred place for the Japanese and all who visit the museum.  The atmosphere is very solemn.  Very fond memories.

  Have you heard of the famous story of “Sadako and the 1000 cranes”. It’s a short children’s book. Sadako was sick due to the radiation from the bomb. She believed that folding 1000 cranes would help her survive. She died before she finished. People bring folded cranes to her memorial and that is what you saw in the cases.

  Thank you so much for visiting Hiroshima!  I went on a tour group 20 years ago with my mother and regretted not spending more time there.  I appreciate that you showed me more of what I would have wanted to see.

  I'm so glad you went to Hiroshima. The last time I was there, it was the 50th anniversary and we got to see the Emperor and Empress there. Didn't go inside the museum because my family is originally from Hiroshima and my dad did not want to go in because of the memories. Our ancestral home was spared by the bomb blast and still stands today near the Botanical Garden, in the hills. I would recommend trying Hiroshima Okonomiyaki and one of the more Mom Pops places rather then the one you guys went to.

  Aha! Thanks for showing me how to make the crane fly! I am dense and unfolded it only. We hung it up on our cork board in our kitchen. Thank you! What and interesting city and yummy looking food. 🤤🤤
