  I stand by the idea that breaking glass to save people from the other side who are dying of a poison gas of an unknown toxicity is probably a terrible idea

  Ok, The Darkness one made sense. The Darkness was literally holding you up and off the ground. It forced you to not do anything. It had nothing to do with glass

  I really really want to see this trope being parodied to death.<br>NPC: Uhh, Player? Could use some help here! (Is cornered by monster.)<br>Player: Oh sh**! (Bangs on the glass. Really hard.)<br>NPC: It&apos;s okay, he fell over. And can&apos;t get up. Wait, is that poison gas?<br>Player: (Using a power drill) I&apos;m coming to help as fast as I ca-<br>NPC: Wait, no, that&apos;s just a leaky valve. (fixes) There. Oh, sh**, the monster&apos;s getting up.<br>Player: (Using a powerful laser weapon) HANG ON!!<br>NPC: Oh, the monster was friendly. He gave me a cookie, see? Hey... is that a detonation timer I hear?<br>Player: (Using an Anti-Higgs-Field-Sword and it&apos;s still not working despite being a literal matter-disassembling weapon) WHAT!! THE!! HE**!! IS!! THIS!! MADE!! OF!?!?<br>NPC: (Opens the door.) My mistake, those numbers were the code for the keypad.<br>Player: Oh, thank heavens, I thought you were going to di-<br>(A black tendril stabs the NPC and drags him through the door on the other end of the room.   (fallout 3) I managed to kill the guy before he got to the water purifier, but apparently that broke the game.. I mean not my fault I outmaneuvered the glass.

  To be fair, Nova 6 is a gas. Breaking the glass just lets it out of the room it&apos;s trapped in and into the room you&apos;re standing in, so instead of watching someone die, you&apos;ll die along with them
