  I was at a Korean nail salon a few months ago and the ladies there were constantly looking at my outfit and talking about it. I understood what they were saying since I have been learning Korean for about 2 years now. So before I left I responded with “ I’m glad you like my shirt! Have a nice day” in Korean .. the look on their faces was priceless

  That rule about not gossiping about other people in another language cause they might understand it is an important rule.<br><br>I remember one time when I was working at my local grocery store in high school there was a German couple that came in and were gossiping about the employees. At this point I had already been learning German for 5 years so I understood most of that they were saying. As they were walking away from me I said to them &quot;Have a nice day&quot; to them in German and the look on their faces... they were <i>mortified.</i>
