Of course the trees are trimmed. That's part of the road maintenance. Greatly reduces the risk of falling branches. And trucks can drive by without hitting branches.

Learning how to drive is not learning how to operate the vehicle, but learning how to properly look around, use your mirrors, be aware of all the traffic and to anticipate what the other traffic is gonna do and adjust your choices and driving accordingly. That is what you learn in driving lessons.

Fun fact: American news channels often call the German Autobahn a dangerous road (some parts don't have speed restrictions). But the American highway is significantly more dangerous based on kill and accident numbers...

My English cousin married an American woman, and moved over there.
The driving in Florida terrified him.
No rules, the cars dont have an equivalent of a yearly MOT test, so many are falling apart.
He said it was like being on the film set of "Mad Max" 😂😂

I started driving when I was 28. On the first lesson the instructor asked me if I had ever driven before. When I said unfortunately no his heartfelt response was, Good, so I have nothing to correct!

7:00 In Poland you can loose your license in a few ways:
1. By racking up 20 penalty points - here are few penalized behaviors:
   - Parking in not allowed spots: 8 penalty points, 100$ fine
   - Causing a danger on the road - 6 penalty points, 100$ fine
   - Exceeding speed limit up to 30 kmph (~18 mph) - 1-7 penalty points, 10 - 100$ fine
   - Exceeding speed limit up to 70 kmph (~ 36 mph) - 9 - 14 penalty points, 250 - 500$ fine (x2 fine for repeated offense)
   - Exceeding speed limit above previous one - 15 - loose your license, 625$ (x2 fine for repeated offense)
   - Passing vehicle on a crosswalk - 8 penalty points, 500 - 8000$ (for repeated offenses)
   - Not yelding to pedestrian APPROACHING crosswalk - same as above
2. Extremely exceeded speed limit
3. repeated DUI
4. Vehicular manslaug***r - loose license without ability to regain it

Penalties are high, license is quite easy to loose, and if you have one of penalized offenses on your account - especially in case of exceeding speed limit by a high margin - insurance prices can skyrocket

Also if you loose license more than once in some cases (reckless driving/dui) then you cannot reacquire it in any way

"there is no mandatory driving lessons"....that comment alone is the reason why american drivers suck..No-one is teaching them the correct way to drive. Here in the UK you usually only take a test when your instructor tells you HE/SHE thinks you are ready.

23:13 "i don't see any pickup trucks, NONE!"

This is the Netherlands, where heavier cars get taxed more because of the damage to all that asphalt you appreciate being so smooth. Only if a pickup truck is truly an advantage, you'll see them and to my knowledge it is mostly only farmers that have em.

Europeans ARE better drivers because there is better driving education!

What also is remarkable is the fact that in the whole drive he filmed (a little out of Amsterdam) you didn't see one billboard, or any sort of huge advertising at the roadside. I think that this would also add to more road safety because drivers then are not busy reading the billboards.

I remember my dad when i was learning to drive a car, and dad was teaching me. He said the first thing is to learn the rules and be serious about driving because you are taking responsibility for all who are in the car and all who are outside. You must stop on time no matter what happens on the road if a situation is dangerous. You must keep everybody safe when you are driving. I passed my license from the third time, and it took a lot of effort for me. I am happy for driving responsibility, which i took on myself
