As a Raps fan who’s gone back repeatedly to watch the 2019 run, I really appreciate being able to re-live this era of Raptors basketball.

DeMar was always loved but watching him give up in the playoffs was infuriating. Hearing him say he’d win the title with the 2019 squad just ain’t right!

Loved hearing the likes of Ye and MF Doom in the background btw

It wasn't just him that led to the Raptors playoff choking... but he was our 1A option on offence, and I feel like we didn't have the supplementary pieces to give him relief against tough defenses when the going got tough. It's hard to be "the guy" and not every player, even great offensive players like Demar, are meant for that role. Unfortunately that was the role that the Raptors asked him to play and it negatively impacted his legacy as a result. In hindsight, he was an amazing player for the franchise and one of the first real "stars" since the Carter/TMac/Bosh days that really gave the franchise an identity and a direction. I'll always cherish his time in Toronto as a lifelong fan.

Demar touching his nose when he says "no doubt in my mind" is the most obvious tell I've seen in a while. 😂😂

Demar changed the entire culture in Toronto. Put the team on his back for 5 years and provided more winning seasons than the team had ever seen.
He was the first star player that wanted to be there, that re-signed instead of going to free agency. Maybe they wouldn’t have won without Kawhi, but this Derozan made a huge contribution to what that franchise became. He deserves way more credit and a lot less hate.

It wasn't just Derozan, it was Lowey and everyone else too and the problem was LeBron. It's possible that LeBron leaving would have actually been the ticket to the finals. And it wasn't just Kawhi, Marc Gasol was also instrumental, especially against the Bucks.
