This double A single went DIRECTLY to the top of the charts. Even as teens we knew something almost unbelievable was happening. The Beatles were getting better and better. It's a gas seeing the excitement it is generating for you. AND, like the day tripper,...you're only half the way there.
I am enjoying your reactions to The Beatles..

Rain will blow your mind. Epic but underrated song. One of their best songs

We can work it out is a top tier song, and one of my favorites. I love when JOhn and Paul harmonize in this song, totally amazing.

The Beatles are their own category! What they did in less than 10 years is unprecedented!

Paul was a song writing machine. The melody for Yesterday came to him in his sleep! For weeks he thought he must have heard it somewhere and only after he'd asked everyone around if they knew what it was and no one did he realized it was his.

The Tempo change from 4/4 to 3/4 and back was George's idea. He had a knack for suggesting little things like that that would elevate a song.

After Revolver they released the double A singles Penny Lane & Strawberry Fields Forever. The songs were the first songs they recorded for Sgt Peppers Album, but due to pressure from the record label who were worried because they hadn't released anything for a few months, they were pulled from the album and released as stand alone singles onstead. (However they later appeared on the Magical Mystery Tour album. In the UK Magical Mystery Tour was an extended EP. In the USA it was released as an LP with various 1967 singles included. When, decades later the Beatles discography was standardised, the US Magical Mystery Tour Album became the main version)

August 28, 1964: Bob Dylan famously introduced the band to proper cannabis at the Delmonico Hotel in New York City during their first American tour. Probably just a coincidence that their songs started to get more interesting.
