Great video, and lots of good tips Alex! I personally use multi-color prep and it works flawlessly. The one pro-tip I might offer is on the photo testing grid. When you shrink a full photo in the software for the material testing, you also lower the dpi of that photo. If you use the original photo and just crop a section of it for testing, you'll get a much more accurate representation of the final result. In this case, I would have cropped out the eye of the dog to use for the material test.

"As you are sanding, don't stay too long on one spot. Wipe the dust and keep moving." Sounds inspirational!

Just happened upon your channel and as a newbie I have to say I'm impressed! I'm always asking why? You explain everything in great detail and answer questions that I have before I even can ask them. I really appreciate this. Your attention to detail is much appreciated!

I’m surprised that I haven’t seen more people using blackboard paint. I found that it works the best.

Great comparison. I look at it from a little bit different point of view. A business one. I will say my exact numbers - I buy one slate coaster for around 1€ and sell it for 5€(small discount if buying more). When i was preparing for my first ever craft fairs/markets I sanded the slate, painted it and then used lacquere because I wanted it to be perfect for my first time showing. Now I just paint it and lacquere it because i found out that sanding is quite time consuming and it adds more to the price than i would like to sell it for. While not sanding it anymore i just started liking the natural surface of the unsanded slate more and it really fells natural to the touch. Now I consider to only lacquere it to save some time and money and prepare my slate for events even faster. In the end I think people dont really care that much if its sanded or not unless its their custom design or photo they want to engrave(custom orders are more expensive so you can spend more time with prep). What do you think? btw. liked the video.
