Bravo Ms Wilmott. 👏👏👏. And thanks to Simon for mentioning her. I love all those hardy Fuchsia. My potted ones are still going full force. You would love Falling Stars and Chang Simon. Also, Wendy's Wish is a pretty salvia too. And if anyone is interested in a plant that flowers thru December (in zone 8b PNW) Scaveola (fan flower) has an iron constitution. Choose the blue one! 💙

Thanks for all the information, Simon & particularly for including Abelia grandiflora. I've just planted one in my small garden at the suggestion of an RHS advisor. I wasn't aware of it until recently & had never seen one, so it was good to see it in the flesh - sort of. My suggestion for an October flowering plant would be Thunbergia (Black-eyed Susan). They come in a variety of colours, are easy to grow annuals, great climbers & flower all through the summer until the first frosts. Plus you don't need to deadhead them. Just give them some sunshine, feed & water. Great value plants.

One of my favorites is Blue Mist Flower. Native to my area in the Southeast U. S. (Oh say can you see 😂). It is also a host plant for Clymene moth, Lined Ruby Tiger moth and Three Lined Flower moth. It also is a nectar source late in the season. Love the vids

Thank you for another informative and entertaining video. The star plant in my garden for attracting pollinators at this time of year is Heptacodium Miconioides. It is currently covered in slightly fragrant white flowers which attract a huge number of bees and hoverflies. Interestingly, it is the only plant in my garden that attracts hornet mimic hoverflies. I garden on the south Kent coast.

Brilliant upload Simon... Wonderful selecetion of plants, facts, history , plus you're a funny Guy 🤣.
The Salvias look absolutely fantastic, likewise the Abelias, and all of the others in your list..
Quick point to note for some of you viewers.... I went out looking for Abelia Grandifloras last week.
I was shocked at the varieties avalailbe, ranging from the 'Kaleidoscope' to 'Edward Goucher' to 'Sunshine Daydream' to 'Pinky Bells' amongst others.. I gave in and bought one of each of those which I've listed - each with either variegated or solid colouring and a range of purple, to pink, to white flowers. Beautiful! Great channel
