  My favorite recent deltarune theory is that Kris stops you from getting your own vessel because you were put here to stop The Knight, and so Kris keeps you contained within their body to make sure they&apos;re actually the one in control.<br><br>Take the segment in Noelle&apos;s house where you almost learn the bunker code for example, your goals and Kris&apos;s goals are directly conflicting with each other, so Kris has to stop you from getting information that would foil their plans. You&apos;re difficult enough to keep under control when Kris can literally carry you into the other room with one hand and lock you in a box when you misbehave, imagine how much more trouble you would be if you had an entire body and you could just play the game by yourself

  I feel like people often forget that Kris is, in fact, a child. The first thing they do after getting control of their body back is eat an entire pie, or drink a bunch of chocolate milk, or play the piano. Both Kris and the player are trying to make the best of a bad situation. We don&apos;t fully understand each other but we need each other nonetheless.

  I have been a &quot;We aren&apos;t the villain for playing the game kindly&quot; advocate for a long while, as well as a &quot;Kris is sneaky and knows more than we do and is working towards something, but isn&apos;t a heartless supervillain&quot;, but this is a nice, succinct way of putting all that into words. I didn&apos;t think about the fact Kris already had the bird cage - that&apos;s a really good point. <br>(It&apos;s ironically kind of comforting to me, because it means that our control wasn&apos;t even a surprise - they knew we were coming. Our actions can confuse or irritate or upset them, but at least it isn&apos;t like they woke up one day, possessed and unsettled with no idea how it happened.)<br><br>Never considered them a candidate for the voice that interrupts Gaster, but that would even explain why it shares the same (lack of) voice sound Chara&apos;s does.<br><br>I just hope Toby had Kris in mind when saying he hoped we could be friends with everyone someday...

  If we were to assume the second voice in the character creator was Kris (probably isn’t, just go with me) then you could read what they say as projecting. <br>“No one can choose who they are in this world.” We know Kris wanted (and may still want) to be a monster. Neither of us get to be who we want to be.

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oAEhsjRf91g&amp;t=156">2:36</a> I don’t think it’d raise any ethical issues at all actually. &nbsp;Monsters aren’t animals, Catty and Bratty in Undertale talk about how they want to own a cat once they get to the surface, Noelle wants to keep the (presumed) mouse under the Angel doll as a pet, and she even has an old hampster cage implying she owned a pet at one point, so like, I don’t think Kris owning a pet bird would be an ethical issue at all.

  it&apos;s still crazy that after chapter 4, after the weird route<br>Kris still chooses us. Kris still puts us back in control. Kris doesn&apos;t tell ANYONE about us. what could be more important than stopping the Weird Route??
