Many years ago, when I only owned one electric guitar (my beloved '62 Les Paul SG Standard Ebony Block, my first encounter with the world of addictive substances), I had no one to teach me this stuff. It just came to me all by itself, along the road, probably because that SG was so amazing that I couldn't put it down and always had it in my hands, from the time I had time off work until I had to meet again at the army base.

Well, another real-life story from an old Danish combat veteran. I hope they don't bore you. ✌😎🤘

Really dig your teaching style! No nonsense, straight forward, easily digestible, and none of the miraculous promises that I'll turn into a guitar god by learning this one new scale or note! 😂 So refreshing from all the other YTuber's!

"...people solve big problems in life - and for some reason never break out of this box..." what a great way to frame this!

What I think is really neat about the diagonal pentatonic pattern is that the blue note always occurs at the transition point (the note that you slide over). That makes it really easy for me to remember where it is since I tend to lose track of it 😅

Thank you so much for these no nonsense lessons. I’m excited to start the six week course. I purchased your fretboard course and it has helped and continues to help me with fretboard fluency. Your teaching method is excellent. I have come to realize and appreciate the fact that one must memorize material and not rely on constantly looking at charts. 😊

Super helpful lesson. The connections obvious to more advanced players brings the intermediate guitar players skills up quickly. Thanks for sharing!

One of the great things about the guitar is that, unlike the piano where notes only appear in one place, the same note can often be sounded in several spots on the fretboard. This allows for some real flexibility in scales and chording. I recall discovering the basic pentatonic scale in my teens. It was like the key to the highway. This video expands that scale across the neck. Very valuable content. Thanks NickyV.
