  I have loved TOTO for many years, 40 to be exact and now at 70, I still love them and listen all the time!

  All three of the Porcaro brothers were very successful studio musicians before Toto. Jeff was an unbelievably talented drummer. Clearly one of the best in the world.

  Actually, the story of Toto did begin with a bunch of teenagers in a dusty garage. Sorry! That garage was in Burbank CA on N. Cordova St. in the mid 60’s, just after they moved here from Connecticut. How do I know? I lived right across the street from them at the time and obviously knew the family well. Even Joe had his equipment set up in the garage. You are right on point regarding the rest of the group’s history though. I commend you for that! The Porcaro brothers also had a sister, but you don’t hear much about her because she wasn’t part of the band (to my knowledge) Steve and I were friends at the time. We’re the same age.

  Despite all of the criticism, drama, and tragedy, Toto remains one of my favorite bands of the late ‘70’s-80s. “Toto VI” is still a classic album, 43 years later.

  In Greg Lakes autobiography &quot;Lucky Man&quot;, after the break up of ELP he was going to do a solo album, he ended up using TOTO as his studio band, he remarked &quot;I couldn&apos;t believe how fast they worked and with such precision, he had a studio booked for a month, they finished all the instrumental work in a week and it was perfect&quot;, he also remarked on each member of the band and how they needed so little guidance to get the sound he wanted, he had great admiration for them as musicians and as gentleman.

  I worked at Columbia records. One day I was setting up the bar at our suite at Universal. Jeff came walking in early. I said Jeff! Won&apos;t be kicking till another hour but since your here, what can I make you? He replied, No, let me make you a drink! So I let him 😀 Great drummer with a great personality. Miss ya Jeff!
