1G cellphone calls we super easy to listen to. You didn't even need as scanner. Any TV with a UHF tuner that went to channel 83 would work! (UHF was limited in the 80s lto channel 69 to make room for analog cellular). But if you had a TV from the 60s or 70s, you could hear nearby cellular calls!
