I started off with 5 fat peppered corys in a 4ft and 3 wee skinny peppered with long dorsal fins in my 2ft. Eventually put the 3 in with the 5 thinking they must be different types of corys and then to my amazement they produced fry. And they continue to produce fry. Now roughly 30 and it's most definitely their tank rather than the giant danios and loaches and a paradise gourami. I love watching them using the whole tank usually in 3 groups. They are immensely entertaining and everyone who sees them are captivated by them rather than anything else in there 🤣

you're right. Shoaling is any group of fish staying together for social reasons, while schooling is a specialized, synchronized form of shoaling where fish move in unison, in the same direction and speed. Shoaling is more general; schools are highly coordinated, usually consisting of a single species of similar size.

I put 2 steamed carrot coins & 2 steamed broccoli branches on a stainless steel skewer into my tank yesterday. Within 24 hrs it was all gone! The Cherry Shrimp & Cory crew ( 7 Peppered, 5 Albino Bronze, 5 Pygmy & 5 Julii) made it a Feast. The red Shrimp on green ‘trees’ looked like Christmas tree with decorations 🎄 😁. My Cory crew make the tank a bustling hub of activity, so much fun to watch.

Great video mate. I’m breeding pandas and Sterbai and they are super popular. I’ve sold over 300 of them since the beginning of this year just to people who visit my fish room. I’m looking at getting into breeding adolfi and Pygmy’s as well.

Mine get protein pellets, algae flakes, blood worms, frozen brine shrimp, baby brine shrimp and tubifex cubes. Lots of flow and a big water change and I get plenty of eggs. I sell mine individually but I have a deal where I sell 6 for the price of 5 and this is intentional to encourage people to buy a group so that they aren’t stressed.

I’ll be sharing this video with my customers because this is good advice for Cory husbandry.

Glad to hear you are shipping again. I’ll be in contact 👍

I LOVE my cory! Watching them go on patrol together in little packs might be come of my favorite behavior in fish keeping. Great shout on the substrate. I've learned it myself, best to keep them in sand (I said sand, not cheap blasting media from Tractor Supply, don't do it). I agree on the feeding as well, generally best of feed all levels of the tank, depending on what fish you have.

as an experienced cory's keeper i still love these guys, always swimming around and sifting thru the sand! i kept different types of cory's and my favorite is the pygmy cory cuz they are always in the mood to swim around and they are just hardworking cute little fish!

I noticed your Neon Tetras hanging out with the Catfish during feeding. I thought it was only me. I have 20 Neons and 20 Peppered Corys, and my goofy Neons will literally hover right over the heads of the catfish waiting for food to be kicked up, and even try to feed alongside them, even though they have already eaten and have full bellies. I feed the catfish ABF Super Catfish Mix, which they love, and it softens over time, so they can forage, swim around, and forage again at their leisure. I also use Indian Almond Leaves, which the Corys love to rest on, and also cones and bark. I have a 60 gallon, well planted aquarium, and my only problem is that, while I started with 8 Corys, over the last several months, babies keep showing up. I certainly am not trying to breed them, but if new ones show up, that is fine, up to a point. I currently have to keep an eye on eggs, and, unfortunately have to get rid of them, as I don't want to overcrowd the tank with an army of catfish 😂🐟🐟. Thanks for the awesome video!

I have 10 or 11 maybe 12 pygmy corridors in my 30-gallon breeder tank I breed neocaridina cpd's , chili rasboras and guppies out of it. A quarter of the top left of my tank is the most dense guppy grass you've ever seen(it's held up in the corner by my wood aquascape material) in your life that's the only way that set up works and then call species are actually able to spawn. Lastly they do need heavily oxygen and oxygenated water. If they are shooting up to the top of the tank once every 5 minutes you need more oxygen.

Cory's are one of my favorites. Stoked my love of most catfish. When random cory babies showed up for the first time I was over the moon that I was just able to provide a proper home that they would breed! Thanks!
