I don’t get the big jump to ‘Bronze Age’. Those caves along the coast were home to thousands who were outlawed after Culloden. One cave (of many) further west towards burghead housed as many as 1,500 people. These people would go on to found and inhabit towns such as Huntly after circumstances surrounding the government & Kirk made life a bit more normal for these fugitives. Fugitives by name only as most would have been members of the community prior to conflict and former neighbours and friends supported and assisted as best as they could, always aware that spies and paid informants were everywhere. Those caves are very metaphysical and spiritual and even through the history between the 17th and 19th centuries are obviously and symbolically “birthing caves”, catalysts for new life after great death and slaughter (of the Jacobites)
