  I was filmed by someone with those meta glasses while I was dressed up at a Renaissance Fair and it got 52 million views on Instagram, and the comments are full of transphobia, fatphobia and ableism.

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=naCyHDAzWHg&amp;t=4304">1:11:44</a> So literally the only time I’ve ever gone on a date with a guy who approached me in public was when HE gave me HIS number. <br>It was at work (supermarket) and he came through my register as a customer. About 15 minutes after the first interaction, he came back and bought a chocolate bar, and as he was leaving he handed me a note and left. <br>The note said “Hey I think you’re cute, here’s my number if you would like to get a drink”. <br>The whole thing was respectful firstly because he didn’t embarrass me by putting me on the spot and asking me out in front of other customers. And by saying IF I wanted to get a drink, he was acknowledging that I might not be interested and that was fine. <br><br>I think also what Jordan said is right, if you can make someone feel safe they are way more likely to be receptive. If you as a man make me feel unsafe or you show me that personal boundaries don’t matter to you from the very first interaction, that’s already a deal breaker.

  I saw a video of a woman talking about how she went to get a bikini wax and the waxer was wearing meta glasses. When she asked her if her glasses were indeed meta glasses, the woman waxing her said that they weren’t recording, and she might’ve even said something along the lines of “obviously I’m not recording”.<br><br>One, that’s not an obvious at all. And two, why would anyone be so comfortable to wear anything like that during a service where a customers safety, privacy, and comfort is more important than wearing your ugly spy tech?

  As a lesbian who works at a dive bar and has to kick men out for making people uncomfortable (including ones that have repeatedly told me they will &quot;f ing kill me after I said I am gay while literally swinging across the bar top to grab or hit me).... most women don&apos;t want the approach.... we walk our femme presenting people out to make sure they get in their cars without harassment... never once has it been a femme person

  I’ve been thinking a lot about it how much of my life is monetised. If I’m listening to a podcast or watching youtube that’s monetised. My internet browsing is monetised with ads. My spotify listening is monetised. &nbsp;When I watch netflix that’s monetised. My movement on Google Maps is data that can be monetised. <br>My habits and data can be monetised. The only time my life is not monetised is when I’m sleeping. But many people use Apple watches or whoop trackers so even their sleep data can be monetised. <br>I kind of see meta glasses as another way human life can be monetised. It feels like companies are constantly finding new ways to extract money out of people.
