You mentioned how quiet it was afterward. Kurt thought everyone hated that final song due to no one yelling and screaming like his usual concerts. Back at the hotel, he was bummed by what he mistook as a negative reaction. One of his crew had to explain to him, people didn't HATE it, they were STUNNED into silence. People who were in that audience said that they were trying to soak it in. It felt so powerful and solemn, they were almost afraid to speak, lest they break a spell.

This is the most raw, real and emotional live recording I've ever seen and it gets me every single time. The pain is real. You can see it as well as hear it in his voice.

kurt's voice is the embodiment of not caring, there's no glass ceiling. he's completely exposed vocally, and very few people can replicate that

Love watching reactors get blown away and unable to really say anything when the song ended. This is absofreankinglutely the greatest MTV Unplugged show ever in my opinion…Alice In Chains Unplugged is my second. Two insanely talented bands…both had unbelievable stage presence and energy when playing live. I honestly believe that those attending this show had no idea what to expect…they were captivated by the broken down, mesmerizing, and emotionally charged performance.

"Where Did You Sleep Last Night" is a traditional American folk song that originated from two separate songs: "In the Pines" and "The Longest Train". Both songs were likely written in the Southern Appalachian area of the United States and date back to at least the 1870’s. This is a version of Leadbelly’s version 😊
