I don't think she was ever arrogant as some people thought. She was just too real and had no pretense about herself.

Probably the reason why EVERYONE stood up for Ms Hepburn was because they respected her craft so greatly. I am a massive Meryl Streep fan, and I could say that she is my favourite actor ever - but by GOD Katharine Hepburn was the GREATEST actor of all time.

She just didn't give a damn. That was one of the things that made her so wonderful.

Imagine being nominated 12 times and winning 4 oscars and you did not attend any. That is Savage.

When a standing ovation was very rare and really meant something.

I was working for a Telemarketing Company in the early 90's. We were working magazine renewals when all of a sudden her name popped up on my computer screen and Katherine Hepburn saying "Hello." I was aghast! We spoke for about 5 minutes & she couldn't have been nicer. Such a thrill! ❤

Did not suffer from Parkinson's disease. She set the record straight in the 1993 TV documentary Katharine Hepburn: All About Me (1993), which she narrated herself. Quote: "Now to squash a rumor. No, I don't have Parkinson's. I inherited my shaking head from my grandfather Hepburn. I discovered that whiskey helps stop the shaking. Problem is, if you're not careful, it stops the rest of you too. My head just shakes, but I promise you, it ain't gonna fall off!".
