My constant rule of a successful retirement regardless of which income strategy (or combination of strategies) = Stay Flexible and Adjust Along the way!

An annuity cannot be 100% of your strategy. Unless you lie on your application. They won&apos;t do it because of lawsuits <br><br>An annuity can be part of your plan

Have you seen $STRC on the Nasdaq with its 11.5% yearly dividend? $STRC was up a penny on Friday even with a HUGE down day. I am waiting for all of the retirement channels to cover the risks / rewards of $STRC...

As is usual in life, it&apos;s not just one way, but a combination of ways that serve you best. A partial annuity that covers your floor and allows you to take more risk on the remainder seems attractive.

The first option is best for anyone who doesn’t want his kids getting a dime. They’re out there, trust me.

Very nice !<br><br>To me the problem with a DiV strategy is that the stock price falls more than other stocks due to profits spent on the DIV. It is a false economy. James said &apos;no free lunch&apos; and that is a spot on comment<br><br>Regarding guardrails strategy for those who want to maximize withdrawal, I think the main weakness is that few will manage it DIY, and the cost of AUM eats up most if not of the marginal withdrawal increase. It&apos;s a wonderful strategy for the financial planner, not so much for the client

Annuity con. Only as good as the insurance company and 1m invested with one company is not protected by law. Research is critical. Some states have lower protection thresholds so make sure to diversify your annuity investments to ensure adequate coverage.

For me it&apos;s two things <br><br>1. A liability matching portfolio. Guaranteed income to meet my basic spending. Social Security is the bedrock of this (and a ladder of tips to get me to 70 to collect Social Security)<br><br>2. A risk portfolio. I will be heavily invested in stocks and take a set percentage every year for my large discrenary spending/ needs
