People from Australia and New Zealand do what's called their "big OE" (overseas experience). Since we live at the bottom of the world,   when we hit our 20's  we traditionally go off and explore the world. This song is about an Aussie doing their OE and the people they encounter in various countries and ultimately they're recognised for their "Australian-ness"

This song was played September 1983 at the Americas Cup for sailing, WE WON ! As the yacht was lifted out of the water, our SECRET keel was revealed, whilst Land Down Under played, we ended Americas 132 year streak ! Even our Prime Minister Bob Hawke said any boss who fires someone for not turning up for work is a b u m. Historic moment. Thanks Molly boy, I did take the day off work by the way, amd wasnt sacked  !!!

MB you’re a goddamned gift to the world!  Love how you bring us into your experience and engage with eye contact to the camera.  Makes me feel like we’re sitting having a cuppa, talking about life and experiencing things together.  Thank you!

A good rule of thumb is that if it has a proper music video, it&apos;s almost always 80s or later. MTV started in 1981 and changed the game for music. The majority of the 70s stuff is just people on a stage or in a void, because it wasn&apos;t intended to be visually groundbreaking. Most of those recordings were more intended to be played as segments of other shows.<br>Of course no rule without exceptions, and some older stuff has had videos added later, but as a general rule it works.
