I’m running a raspberry pie from jail. You could say it’s the powerhouse of the cell.

I'm glad that people are starting to pick up on this. I'm running my entire home server on just a raspberry pi 4 with 4gb of ram and its quite the efficient powerhouse.

How did you know I was gonna search for Raspberry Pi Homeserver setup right after watching your "I Replaced Every Subscription I Pay For" video?

Nice. Some suggestions.

1. Immich runs a PostgreSQL database while Jellyfin maintains an active SQLite database. Heavy db logging on a MicroSD card can cause write wear and eventual corruption over time. For long-term deployments, booting directly from an NVMe SSD (via a Pi 5 PCIe HAT) or an external USB SSD is recommended.

2. While Samba is great for dropping movies into Jellyfin's folder, do not manually add or modify files inside Immich's managed /upload directory via Samba. Immich tracks files using its internal database; manually editing these folders bypasses indexing and can corrupt thumbnails or database links.

3. Running an external USB SSD alongside a Raspberry Pi 5 requires sufficient USB power delivery. Using the official Raspberry Pi 27W (5V/5A) USB-C Power Supply ensures the USB ports receive up to 1.6A without power drops under heavy drive load.
