I saw all of Carlin's early network appearances on a Zenith black and white TV. I still have his 1972 comedy album, "FM & AM," on the Little David Records label. He came by his radio routines from his early career as a deejay in Shreveport, Louisiana.

I used to have that skit memorized..... when I was a kid, my sister had it on a 45 rpm and the flip side was Al Sleet the hippy drippy weather man.....I can STILL remember/recite 99% of it.... great stuff!!!

In this routine reason why George is actually very convincing as a disc jockeys, because he was illegitimate disc jockey in the late 50s in Louisiana so he knows what he’s talking about when he does this routine about this being a DJ himself
