  My wife divorced me after less than two years of marriae 50 years ago.<br>After that, i had no desire to ever do that again, so an annultment was not a concern to me.<br>I have remained single.<br>Ten years ago, I dscovered that my wife died.<br>I was saddened and prayed for her.<br>At the time i learned &nbsp;that she had died, i felt a great weight lifted from my shoulders. For the first time in 40 years i felt freed from a burden carried all those years.

  That&apos;s good to know the priest has to vet the situation first before he even takes on the case. So the 90% annullment rate is not really 90% of all who wanted to annull.

  Given that the ages for validity cited in canon law is 14 for a girl and 16 for a guy, the church itself has provided yet another ground for annulment

  Sobering admission…. “45 years of bad Catholic catechesis”. &nbsp;As a lifelong Catholic, it angers me that that the Church presumes the laity needs only limited prep. &nbsp; Given the cesspool culture that we live in and the number of wounded people, everyone should be required to take “Healing the Whole Person” course before any vocation, especially marriage. &nbsp;Let’s be just as conscientious BEFORE wedding vows as we are with annulment &nbsp;cases.

  I have no witnesses. I basically had no friends. I was busy working and raising the children.<br>My Mom was my closest confidant and knew everything…<br>She passed away in 2018. <br>I do have a letter she hand wrote to my ex husband about the way he treated me. <br>Not sure if that would be enough, as far as additional evidence.

  Thank you, Father, for breaking down all the nuances I was unaware of. (This old altar boy from South Philly obviously needs to pick up a copy of the Baltimore catechism.) My concern is how would an annulment impact our child born of the marriage? Thanks, and Semper Fi!! (Semper Paratus for me.)
