Blacks character is not a firearms expert. He is tasked to build a mounting system, not a gun. Obviously he deduces what it will be used for, but the build itself needs his engineering knowledge not that of a weapons expert.

The scene when they are looking for the Jackal right before he executes the hit on the 1st lady is pure tension

While definitely a flawed film, I've always liked The Jackal. I saw it in a packed theater on it's opening night, and I think it has held up well for being nearly 30 years old.

One of my favorite movies. I have to watch it every time I see it's on

That period in the 90s where the Cold War seemed over was a nice stretch of time.  So calm by comparison to today.

I'm 44 years old to date, I was literally raised on Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd. Moonlighting was my favorite television show as a child for one. It was a cool show for two. It was a way to bond it with my mom. That was one of the only few times I didn't get in trouble😂
