I’m super looking forward to watching some journal sketching.  I hope you get a chance to film it and give us a little “journal Sketching 101’ on it!

Copenhagen is the safest city in Europe and as a German I can say it really shows when you’re there . It was a wonderful experience when I went there last summer, with a friend. We were both  18, it was our first alone trip and we really enjoyed our time. The city is amazing, also everyone speaks English, which was so nice

Your explanations of why you’re bringing your supplies is my favorite thing 😂❤Reminds me so much of my craft sisters and how we show up with luggage to craft 🥰

Leslie Stroz—I just bought her book The Big Book of Tiny Painting.  I’m looking forward to your sketching.  I will be going later in the month with my travel art supplies.  I have taken watercolor pencils and never used them, so probably won’t this time.

While you don't have much time, there are travel watercolor brushes that work really well. Like a fountain pen, they have a cap which makes them smaller and easier to carry.   I purchased 4 of them and they work well. Regarding watercolor pencils, just take the primary colors. Truthfully focus on your Gallo palette.  I am about to head off to Mayo-Phoenix for health reasons, which will likely be that will be at least 7 days long (or could be much, much longer depending . . .).  Regarding my stationary needs, I am only taking one journal insert (Wonderland - 396 pages TR paper) in my Moterm leather cover which will will be my all-around journal to journal as the doctors figure out my diagnosis and treatment, 6 fountain pens  (maybe less), 2 highlighters, my 4x4" watercolor palette and 1 waterbrush and 1 travel brush, 1 Black Micron pen, and my bible study guide on Heaven by Randy Alcorn.  All of this is very compact, and fits easily in my small backpack together with my laptop and peripherals (since I own a business, I have to keep in touch with clients), together with my small iPad, iPhone and iWatch chargers.  This together with my small carry-on bag that has just clothes is all that I am taking.  No liquids, makeup, etc.  I can purchase those when I get there.

    A. Gallo watercolors are my absolute favorites! You are right, with that palette, you have everything you could ever need, and you are smart to just focus on getting to know your palette. I also overpack! It's easier to tell someone else what to cut back on, lol, but I would not bring any fineliners. I would put waterproof ink in my fountain pen that has a nib size similar to the fineliner you prefer. I only use a fountain pen for line and wash now (just give it a little time to dry before adding paint). One thing you may be missing is a cloth or small sponge or even a terrycloth wristband to dab extra water from your brush or to clean it when switching colors. Have a wonderful trip, can't wait to see your art journal when you return!

I liked this video all your questions of whether or not you should bring half the things with you. Don’t take anything heavy. Copenhagen is gorgeous and the weather has been beautiful in Europe. Should be a lot of pretty parks as well. I’ve been there quite a few years ago and if they have the midnight sun, probably get stuck about 1030 or 11 and then light at 2 AM. Keep those curtains close.
