It was Bobby, an orchestra, and a microphone. He was a master vocalist.

That was how the original sounded. No help. No autotune. Just talent.

Bobby Hatfield OWNS this song. I really do not believe anyone can sing this song better than Bobby. This was LIVE before an audience with no electronic enhancements. It was an incredible unmatched performance. RIP Bobby - you're beyond fantastic.

His voice is true and pure. No one can do this song like him. No one.

1965 - - live tv, no retakes, no do over, no auto tune. No pressure but his mom was in the front row, reportedly her first time hearing him sing publicly

I'm a full blown Angelina fan, but this performance by Bobby is the single greatest version ever.

Hundreds of singers have recorded this song. NOBODY does it like Bobby Hatfield. This song was used in the movie "Ghost". The Righteous Brothers were 25 at this time. No auto tunes. Live performance, no second takes and his parents were in the audience. This song was written for a 1955 movie called "Unchained". Check out "Ebb Tide". In 1965, and way before, singers actually had to have talent to make it in the music business. Check out "You've Lost That Loving Feeling", "You'll Never Walk Alone" and "Soul and Inspiration". For Big Band sound, check out Glenn Miller's "In The Mood", "Moonlight Melody" and "Sting of Pearls". Check out Connie Frances "Where The Boys Are". Louis Armstrong "It's A Wonderful World". Judy Garland "Over the Rainbow".

A 24 year old Bobby Hatfield singing, with a cold, to his mom in the audience for the first time she was seeing him sing Live.
