A joy to watch. Im really happy that you covered prints because I'm trying to digitize and reprint old family photos for a Christmas gift. This will be a great help. Thank you.

Thankyou, absolutely brilliant, you explain perfectly. Just about the best video on the subject I've watched. Again a big thankyou.

Thank you very much for your informative video! I am researching how to digitize old films and prints and needed to see an actual demonstration on how to do it.

Good idea for batches of old negs, slides and prints. I have 4 x mono A3 prints on matt paper but no negs. I'm copying them onto my Sony A7iii with a 50mm or 85mm lens. I use the self-timer to avoid any camera shake. I taped them to a wall with masking tape, wall not facing any windows and resized them in Photoshop as layers on same doc. Then saving each layer as a jpeg to email to client so he can get them printed as a set. Photoshop can bring up the shadow detail a bit and I'll spot out any dirt on prints. It works far better than a flatbed scanner which gives you an auto exposure.

constant lights are great for focus. but how about speedlights?

This is really helpful. I wonder if it might be helpful to use an enlarger easel to hold prints in place? This might eliminate some issues of curling prints.

    Hi Nigel,
Have you tried medium format?
Does this system hold up well and flat for neg/slide 6x7?
Thanks.

Using my digital camera and tripod, what would be the best camera settings. I have tried using the camera in auto mode but just not all that clear in my opinion

Is there better way to handle those wobbly pictures? I was thinking of using sheet of glass over the photo - so it's flattened against the base - but would that make any sense?

Wouldn't using a camera be as time consuming as using a scanner if you have hundreds of photos? Is it worth buying a second hand Epson Fast Foto? I'm guessing once people have scanned all of their old photos they wouldn't have as much use for it? Many thanks
