Thank you for this exhibition and this tour. I wish I could enjoy it in person. I'm glad I can at least experience it virtually.

Thank you for this exhibition. One reason I admire Matisse so highly is that he encouraged his friend Derain to join him in developing their new art form inspired by the vivid colors and light in the South of France. These paintings are magnificent.

I started painting at 41 or 42 years old, and I am in love with painting now, although I’ve always loved art and drawing ✍️ I think painting is one of the great loves of my lifetime. Seeing these paintings and learning about their stories and the background of their reasoning for making theses has blown my mind wide open to an understanding I knew I was/am searching for, but couldn’t find. I am in awe and have a whole different perspective and view of art/painting than I had before. ❤❤❤

There are strong use of opposites, where there's red there's green, blue there's orange, yellow there's purple. This was a great time for art.

This is one of the most perceptive and fascinating expositions of Fauvism and these two great painters that I have ever heard. These two women are so fluent, so insightful and passionate that it is an intellectual adventure listening to them! Thank you, thank you!

I was fortunate to visit Collioure in April 2024 and came across the artistic history of the now busy town. The memories are still bright and clear and have helped me in my exploration of the art of painting in oils.

Wonderful - particularly in bringing Derain to a wider audience - he is often overlooked/minimized in the history of modern French painting - he was an extraordinary force....
