Oviedo has a university program in the summers. Older adults are welcome to take Spanish and culture classes. It's not outrageously expensive and the professors are outstanding. A bus ride on the weekends to Gijon, and beautiful connections with "Immigrants" led me to long-term friendships with people from every corner of the world. Santander also has language classes and lovely residents to stay with.

I watch the video, check that my city is not on the list, and feel relieved. There's still some great stuff they don't know about...

Been living in Pamplona for 7 years now I can say se vive bien aqui. It has a great mix of culture, green space, and activities that make me not miss San Francisco at all.

I am not planning to move to Spain, but I still enjoyed watching this video and getting to know new places (for me) in Spain. In September, I will finally travel to parts of Andalucia for the first time, and we will be spending 3 nights in Cadiz. I very much look forward to it, even more after seeing this part of your video.

I just spent five and a half weeks in Dénia, from beginning of May 2026. You are right, it's a special place. For those not yet fluent in Spanish, there is a very good language school called TLCdenia, where I attended classes for 5 weeks. I also had maintenance done on my car by an official dealer of my car brand, which was affordable and done well. The tram ride to Calpe and Benidorm throught the mountains is cheap and spectacular. From and to one of the airports of València and Alicante, which are at the same distance from Dénia, it's better to take a bus. For those who can and want to afford it: There's even a restaurant with three Michelin stars here.
The place seems to be popular among people from Germany, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Canada and the United States of America. July and August are said to be very crowded, I even felt the situation change mid-June, when I left.
For those who are interested: There's YT video by a channel called Wilmes: "one year in Dénia", and of course there are lots of other videos about this town as well.

Thanks to your previous video about Cadiz, I included it in my itinerary last November and totally fell in love with it. I ended up cancelling my trip to Malaga so I could extend my stay in Cadiz.
I think my favorite part were the beautiful old gardens / parks, the sunsets, being able to walk everywhere, and the fact that even though it's a coastal town it doesn't have that "beach town" feel. There's a nice, slow pace and the people are friendly. It's also the first city where I saw a lot of dogs!
And in November it was 60 degrees and sunny, which for someone coming from Seattle feels like summer.

James! I gasped when Dénia showed up on your list- shhhhh!!! It’s been our goal to get to Dénia since 2023 and we are watching it (almost painfully, from abroad)grow and grow as an immigration destination. We need to get there soon or else it will become to expensive/unavailable! I am torn on that I want to see you do a video in Dénia but I also don’t want you to!😅

I originally came to Madrid for studies. After over 5 years and visiting all the Comunidades Autonomas, I moved to Cantabria, some 20 km from Santander, but believe you me, it gets so gloomy after a while.
I have now been living in Alicante for about a year, and it's been superb.

I lived in Alicante for many years, Zaragoza is a lovely place. Denia is gorgeous, and just down the road from Alicante.
