i think you guys have instantly got the tone of this series, ive seen other people struggle with whether or not they should be laughing the whole time or taking it extremely serious, and the answer to both those is yes, jojo's is everything on the spectrum lol

 Music references in these episodes:

Dio is named after the 80s heavy metal band Dio and its frontman, Ronnie James Dio, who was also the lead singer for Black Sabbath at some point

Erina's name is based on the song "Eleanor Rigby" by The Beatles. It might not look like it in english, but Erina and Eleanor are spelled and pronounced basically the same way in japanese

Jonathan's fight on Ogre Street (in the manga, this chapter was literally titled 'The Battle on Ogre Street') is a reference to the song "Ogre Battle" by Queen, a band Araki is a huge fan of

Jonathan's dog Denny was named after the famous track "Danny's Song" by 70s american pop-rock duo Loggins and Messina

5:40 Yeah, they become really close to each other. Probably the closest I can think of in any anime/manga.

You should keep in mind that JJBA Part 1 came out on January 1st, 1987, making it a very old series, older than any other anime you guys have watched. One Piece started in 1997 and is already considered ancient, but JoJo is a whole decade older. By the time Luffy even set sail, JoJo was already on Part 5

The ending song is Roundabout from Yes. It wasn't a meme until the anime adaptation.
