  As an added note, I was really confused growing up about why Chris was so much more emotionally attached to Sonic when he spent most of his time with Tails, Amy, and Cream, and Sonic pretty much just hung out alone, sleeping on Chris&apos; roof. Then I realized, that&apos;s probably because of the attachment style Chris developed because of his parents. It&apos;s biologically hardwired into us to crave a deep connection with our mother and father, but they were always ignoring him. It didn&apos;t matter that he had his grandpa, maid, and butler, just like it didn&apos;t matter that he had Tails, Amy, and Cream. He craved Sonic&apos;s attention (in part) because he was conditioned to crave the attention of whoever ignored him or breadcrumbed him.

  4kids did Chris dirty by not being upfront with Chris&apos;s true story in Original Japanese that was taken out for English.

  It&apos;s horrible that 4kids erased all the good things about Chris and gave us a spoiled brat + after this video I finally realized why some people love chris, now i see him as the 2nd best human character in the sonic history (after eggman)

  The <b>ONE</b> scene I remember well was that initial farewell. &nbsp;Chris ran off with Sonic, and Chris&apos; parents were confused as to why he would act so strangely. &nbsp;I believe Chris&apos; dad wanted to convince him to come back by buying a toy store, but the grandfather called him out for his stupidity and made him realize what Chris truly wanted wasn&apos;t just Sonic, it was a companion. &nbsp;Something only Sonic and his friends had truly given him.

  What the actual hell was 4kids thinking if we had gotten this side story in the plot of Sonic X here in America it would have made the show probably better, but they choose not to adapt it!? The next time I watch Sonic X I&apos;m going to watch the English sub.

  I think it&apos;s a good time to bring up how almost every story from Adventure onwards had a theme about how repressing emotional issues or trauma (sometimes symbolized by sealing away monsters) is actually unhealthy and can lead to destructive behavior down the line unless dealt with face to face. <br>This kind of mentality is actually common in Asian culture. A non-Sonic example of this in KPOP Demon Hunters: &quot;Our faults and fears must never be seen.&quot;<br><br>Now think about the villains in the Sonic series: Chaos and Shadow dealt with anger, loss, and the trauma of losing loved ones but were sealed away for many years. <br>Elise dealt with the grief and trauma of losing both her parents but was forced to hide her true emotions and never properly process her trauma.<br>Merlina dealt with the dread of the inevitability of her kingdom falling to ruin but hid her true intentions. <br><br>And then there&apos;s Chris, who had repressed his trauma and abandonment issues until it came to a head when he took Sonic.

  Really nice video! I was confused for a long time as to why Chris&apos; character is so misunderstood after I had only mostly seen the Japanese version, more direct comparisons would have been nice though.<br>You forgot to mention one thing though, Sonic&apos;s relationship with Helen and Chris&apos;s relationship with Shadow is also really important, especially with the comparison of calling Sonic and Chris opposites, &apos;cause by that logic Shadow and Helen should be opposites too.

  That final scene with Dr.Eggman helping Chris get back to his homeworld was one of the most wholesome scenes ever. 😇
