  I am a filipino but i agree with the ranking. there is a lot of things not just in tourism that we can learn from our cousin across the south china sea. way to go vietnam!

  Vietnam is fantastic for tourism. <br>Though, also in general, all of SE Asia is great for tourism. People are friendly. It&apos;s generally safe. It&apos;s great value for money. Even the scams in SE Asia are mild (like drivers pushing to kickback locations), and when you don&apos;t participate in the scheme, they don&apos;t become unpleasant.

  This is the best place for me due to personal factors. I found a very nice Filipina from the Philippines to marry 18 years ago. &nbsp;We married 17 years ago. &nbsp;This has been the best decision I have made in the last 17 years. &nbsp;I am very thankful for a very good spouse and our relationship over the last 18 years.

  Agree with the ranking overall. Phillipines/Indonesia - whichever is 5th or 6th is about right. Same for Singapore/Malaysia, either can be 3rd or 4th. And ppl can argue about which country is 1st or 2nd; Vietnam vs Thailand, both thereabout. It is about perspectives, objectives and experience.

  I have traveled to 4 of the countries on the list several times for most of them, I would move Cambodia up the list to at least number 3, &nbsp;Vietnam is amazing for the whole scenic tour. Thailand is great, but It is becoming more expensive. &nbsp;Palawan was stunningly beautiful , although Manila was very difficult to get around, taxi&apos;s were quite expensive and the traffic was deadlocked a lot of the time. &nbsp;Cambodia had the biggest impact on me, and although it doesn&apos;t have the same quality of medical care as Thailand or Vietnam, &nbsp;It is very easy to get around at very reasonable prices, Hotels are many and quite inexpensive. And I find the Khmer people to be some of the friendliest I have ever met. &nbsp;Also the Angkor wat and Ta Prohm are a must see experience, you also have the killing fields and the sad history that has shaped the country to what it is today. &nbsp;It may not be everyones number 1 choice, &nbsp;but for many of us who have been to Cambodia, it is hard to get it out of your heart, the memories stay with you for a lifetime.

  rank however you like, my number one concern apart from security is food safety and the practice is vastly different. Chances are, the more corrupt the regime, the lower the food standards. I hate to be told too late the meat i bought is actually laced with formaldehyde.

  I have been to all countries, that you mentioned, save Timor-Leste. For me number one is also Vietnam followed by the Philippines and Thailand

  I&apos;ve traveled around Southeast Asia, and honestly, I prefer and enjoy the vast and fertile Indonesian archipelago. The people are very friendly, and the hotels are affordable.

  I&apos;d say the prices in this video are over-stated by quite a bit. &nbsp;Also, if you need medical attention in Vietnam, steer clear of Bien Vien Gia Dinh (Family Hospital)...because it is a sccamm hospital that offers bad care, fake medicines, etc. at inflated prices. &nbsp;Also, if you use a Western credit card there, an employee might try to charge their French vacation on it like they tried to do on my card.

  If you are looking at the region from the perspective of retirement Vietnam is not No.1, because there is no long-term residence visa, unless you happen to have a Vietnamese spouse.

  I have called Hoi An home for 30 months and live within a five minute walk to the beach. An Bang beach area is my affordable home. Food is cheap, varied and delicious. Cabs are cheap if you opt not to motorbike. Rentals are reasonable. Neighborhoods welcoming. Music can be found nightly. Summer is hot, but manageable. Rice paddies are a great refuge. It is easy to bike outside the old town district and be &nbsp;greeted by non tourist Vietnam
