Drawing cards is a skill in the anime. This was basically said explicitly in the GX episode with the Tarzan guy.

What I'll say about the "Edgy" version of his deck being worse, I think is a subtle plot point where darkness and corruption doesn't actually make you better. It just makes you feel like you are.

Or the writers just weren't card designers and the designers were hung over when making it

There's a scene in the anime where it scrolls Zane's deck and you see he is running more than 3 copies of Cyber Dragon, the only logical explanation for how he draws enough to fuse.

Do Syrus's deck next. Roids were so bad Syrus pretty much abandons them for Zane's deck in Season 4

Me and Zane are a lot alike. We play Cyber Dragons and can't stand losing.

Only he has a better win streak.

I wish you did a series on your take of how you would craft their decks at the time, maintaining the same idea and core strategy but improving them with cards released at the time

How Zane manage to return to being one of the Top Pro Duelist with Cyberdark Dragon is one of the many mysteries GX has. Seriously, they should have made that the Cyber Dark Dragons could absorb any Machine type monster ATK and DEF points given that Zane and Syrus only use Machine monsters,so it could work with both Decks and made more sense when Syrus decided to use Cyber Dragons alongside his Roids. I mean, come on,with Dragons being the only possible target, that means that Cyber Darks actually works better on a Deck based on Seto Kaiba, who does basically run only Dragons.

I remember the days when I thought there was a "Cyber Griaffe" card, but it was a mistranslation of "Cyber Kirin"
