¿A quién pican más los mosquitos?

Mosquitoes, mosquito bites, malaria, dengue fever, buzzing, DNA, body odor, and the truth about why some people get bitten more than others—in this episode, we discover the tiny insect that changed human history. The mosquito seems like a simple summer nuisance: a buzz in the dark, a bite on the ankle, and a welt that won't stop itching. But behind that tiny body lies a highly precise biological machine. Only the females bite, and they don't do it out of malice: they need proteins from the blood to produce eggs. Their proboscis isn't a simple needle, but rather a set of microscopic instruments that cut the skin, search for a blood vessel, and inject anticoagulant saliva. In this documentary, we'll see how a mosquito finds a person in complete darkness. First, it detects the carbon dioxide in our breath, then body heat, skin moisture, and finally, scent. That's why some people seem invisible to mosquitoes, while others become a veritable feast. We'll also talk about malaria, dengue fever, yellow fever, Zika, chikungunya, West Nile virus, evolution, stagnant water, buzzing, genetics, skin bacteria, blood type, and chemical signals. We won't be repeating the "sweet blood" myth. We're going to understand what makes a person more attractive to mosquitoes and what you can do to reduce those signals. This video took me longer to research than most: there are too many myths about mosquitoes circulating, and before making any claims, I wanted to be clear about what was backed up by real studies and what wasn't. I review the sources, write the script, choose each image, and edit the video myself. The result is this particular script, which doesn't exist on any other channel.
