I will never look at tomatoes the same way again. This is an eye-opener. The plight of the farmers, the challenges they face, the support that they need. This video should be seen by many--not just for awareness but to effect change and offer more solutions. Thank you to those who help our farmers--sila na may malasakit, including FEATR.

Bless our Filipino farmers. 🇵🇭🌾 Tysm, Featr, for creating such meaningful content and making their stories seen. I hope our government give our farmers the support and priority they truly deserve. ✨

I will buy Mayon canned tomatoes; support our Filipino farmers! I love the heirloom tomatoes, I like eating them fresh or use them in cooking! 😍😍😍

This video hit me differently.

I grew up in Batac. I’m a farmer’s son, and when I was young, I used to help my family sell vegetables at the Batac Public Market. Those are some of the memories I’ll always treasure.

It really broke my heart when I heard our public market burned down a month ago. So many families, including ours before, made a living there. But if there’s one thing I know about Batac, it’s that our people are resilient. They’ll rebuild, and the market will come back stronger.

I’ve been living the corporate life in Manila and now Pampanga for the last 15 years. I’m thankful for everything it has given me, but watching this video made me miss home.

Sometimes I catch myself thinking… what if one day I just go back? Live on a farm, grow vegetables, wake up to fresh air, and live a simpler life. No rush, no noise. Just a peaceful and meaningful life. 😅

Hopefully, in a few years, that dream becomes real.

Support lokal. Eat lokal. Buy at your local markets, buy from small businesses, wag na rin tumawad kung pwede lang.

About a year ago, I saw it with my own eyes—a truck full of tomatoes just dumping its load on the side streets because it wasn't worth anything anymore. And the sad part? The tomatoes weren't bad or tasteless; there was just so much harvest that nobody wanted to buy them. That moment really stuck with me, and I couldn't help but wonder why the Philippine government doesn't step up with programs to help farmers preserve their surplus. So honestly, this episode feels long overdue. I am grateful for these entrepreneurs who took a chance to preserve these tomnatoes. I'll be mindful now of the brands I buy in groceries, although I preserve our own (over)produce by sun drying them. Speaking as a fellow farmer, scientist, educator, and total foodie—congratulations on putting this together. Love you guys!

I’ve never been this early before. Another great documentary from FEATR. I’m so impressed at how you identified a gap that needed to be filled and connected farmers with the cannery and the cannery with restaurants. Now 3 industries are making good use of tomatoes that could have otherwise gone to waste. Such a simple but brilliant solution. I wish our taxes could go to more initiatives like this. Not only does it benefit our food industry, it empowers our farmers. Kudos to you, FEATR team, for showing us this process. This was so interesting to watch.

"Resiliency is an asset but not a solution." I grew up romanticizing resiliency because the government never had a solution. I feel sad for the farmers.
