  A Spaghetti Western is a subgenre of Western films that emerged in the mid-1960s, produced primarily by Italian directors. They are not American B-movies.

  Recently after watching Scavengers Reign, I felt the hand of Giraud in the look of that series. I remember seeing his work in the '70's and totally digging it.

  In the late &apos;60&apos;s as a kid in Cameroon, I learned a lot of my French from copies of Lt. Blueberry. &nbsp;As a teen, discovering the 1st issue of Heavy Metal magazine I fell instantly in love with Moebius. &nbsp;It took me another 5 or 6 years to figure out that Moebius was in fact the same Jean Giraud.<br>I saw The Fifth Element in the theater and said to my companion in the Egyptian introduction sequence that it looked like it was designed by Moebius. &nbsp;I was the last person left in the theater reading the credits, and sure enough.

  I read those early Heavy Metal mags and was quite taken by Giraud (Moebius) and Druillet. &nbsp;Had never seen anything like it. The worlds they created.

  I still have a stack of Heavy Metal mags from the 70&apos;s. His work was always the highlight of every issue for me.

  He died 14 years ago and his art is priceless. We&apos;ll never see somebody that creative and influential regarding the look &amp; style of sci-fi and cyberpunk content ever again.

  Spaghetti Westerns were not American B movie westerns. Spaghetti Westerns are low-budget, gritty subgenre Western films produced primarily by Italian directors in the 1960s/70s, famously shot in Italy and Spain.
