20:52 He doesn't mention this, but Huntsman spiders hunt and eat the ACTUALLY dangerous spiders like funnelwebs, aka the deadliest spider in the world.

Btw, he also just put out a video that talks about kangaroos destroying cars, and he just mentions, as a side note, that Australia has birds eagles big enough to hunt kangaroos, and just doesn't elaborate.

Edit: He made a video about it today

4:22 Do you think the komodo joked with his friends by going up to them like, 'Hey guys, check it out, I'm the goat! ... *.muffled bleating emenates from stomach*. ..."TADAHHH!!!!"

A little correction: the venom in Komodo Dragons didn't take a full week to kill. At most the prey will die in two or three days, and if it's big, there will be other komodos joining in the feast.

Oh, I also need to add that in the wild, komodos have some cannibalistic tendencies. Every time a new baby komodo is hatched, they immediately learned to climb the highest trees they could find so their parents won't eat them

Note: Just because there isn't an antivenom doesn't mean there isn't a treatment. For plenty of paralytic poisons, the treatment is to get a machine to breathe for you until your body works the poison out of your system. Basically just keep you alive until your body figures it out. That's not to say that the treatment will prevent all damage or that won't suck.

Regarding why animals would have venom that seems way too powerful: If you are trying to snag a meal, you want venom that quickly and reliably incapacitates your prey before it gets away of injured you. Even if it dies later, it won't help you is something else steals your meal before you get to it. The Komodo dragon's venom isn't great for a quick kill, but they are the apex predator of the island and there isn't anywhere on the island that their prey can go that the lizard can't follow (plus its metabolism is slow so it can wait).

20:40 It surprises a lot of people to learn that most giant spiders are not dangerous to humans. Do note I said 'most', not 'all.' I spent a year in the Philippians where they have a giant spider on the island I was on. It only gets to about 9 inches wide so not quite a footlong but these guys suuucked in their own special way. It rarely gets cold over there but when it did, those bastards would climb into your bedding and clothing then if you made the mistake of startling them by, oh say moving, they'd bite. Their bites were not dangers but they HURT.

The venom these things had caused muscle pain and swelling for about 14 hours and there wasn't much anyone could do about it, you just had to grit your teeth and bare it. Granted I was 11 at the time so the pain might have not been as bad as I remember but still, not lethal sure, but getting bit really sucked.

Thankfully as I mentioned, it very rarely gets cold in the Philippians so this didn't happen often, in my time over there I was only bit once or twice.
