  I can assure you my grandma didn&apos;t have a washing machine with a fabric softener dispenser, nor did she have a garbage disposal

  I agree with the tennis balls, done that for years. HOWEVER, you&apos;re trying to portray an old time grandma. An oldtime grandma had probably never seen a tennis ball, racket or match. If she was going to use them while the pillows dried, she&apos;d need to throw them at the clothes line because old time grandmas didn&apos;t have an electric dryer, they had a solar dryer.

  Old T-shirts also make simple dog toys.<br>1. Cut the body of the shirt off just under the arms.<br>2. Cut the body of the T-shirt into 3 equal size horizontal strips.<br>3. Take each strip and make a cut on the seam to make the cloth strips longer.<br>4. Take the three long strips and tie a large, tight knot, leaving about 4-5 inches hanging loose into one end.<br>5. Tightly braid the three strips together. <br>6. About 7-10 inches from the end, stop braiding and tie another tight knot as close to the braid as possible. <br>7. With each of the 6 fringe &nbsp;pieces, tie a knot into each one as close to the large knot as possible. This helps to keep the dog from untieing the knot.<br>8. Trim the fringe to about 2 inches long.<br>When the tuggie gets gets icky, throw it in a small wash load with white vinegar, and it&apos;s good to go again.<br>My dogs love to play &quot;tuggies&quot; with me or even each other, and the leftover &nbsp;pieces of the shirt can be used as rags.

  Dryers? We never had a dryer until the 90’s. We used a clothes line out back. When the weather turned into rainy days, we would hang them to fireplace, heater, and even the oven for Tennyson shoes.

  Grandma didn’t need Google — she WAS Google. I still remember my grandma freshening the whole house by simmering citrus peels and cloves on the stove, and using vinegar for just about everything.

  Waste disposal units, automatic washing machines and dryers!! How many grandmothers had all that? Especially in the UK! As far as drying, and to this day, grandmas will do everything to get the laundry outside to dry - even if they do now also have a dryer! No big freezers either, they just had a small icebox inside a small fridge and even then this was only from about the 60s. The war put Britain way behind the US in terms of wealth and these luxury white goods were out of reach for ordinary people. 🇬🇧
