Col. Killebrew was my battalion commander when I was in the 82nd. He was always a true professional. He had us fit half of our gear in our buttpack. I'm honored to have served under his command. I didn't know his history, but I served under many famous leaders in that battalion.

Col. Killebrew - If you are still among us, this was absoulutly the best interview I have ever enjoyed!! Thank you"Sir" for your service to our country! I was at Nha Trang AB, as a flight mechanic/gunner with the U.S. Air Force supporting MACV SOG. The Green Hornets, the 20th Special Operations Squadron. As you are aware, we were your transportation and cover for your missions. It is an Honor to have served in MACV SOG air support. "Always Aware"!

Thank you so much Col. Killebrew for having successfully being part of the Special Forces with Mad Dog Shriver, who is known as the best soldier for kicking ass in the field, and that means alot what kind of being part of the best Unit. Wow Col. That is an highly amazing operation in which you gave your life out there to beat down the NVA on the battlefield. That is truly phenomenal of what you did to accomplish your dangerous missions during the Vietnam War. God bless you my friend

Thank you so much   Col. Killebrew for doing this interview about our CCS brother Jerry "Mad Dog" Shriver. I would love to meet you and fill in some blanks for you. I was at a discussion with Col. Trabue, Capt. Cahill, and the 195th. AHC crews on Jerry's last mission. Thank you Savage for getting the CCS story out.

I had a Cambodian interpreter that told me he was on Shriver’s team. After returning from his first mission he went AWAL. Shriver sent some team members to find him and bring him back. He said he went to his room and there were several human skulls on the wall. He stood in front of Jerry and pissed his pants. He said Mad Dog only wanted to know why he left the team. He said he was scared and didn’t want to run recon.

Jerry Shriver has a grave marker at Ft Lawton near Seattle. His mother lived locally and died about twenty years ago.

This was great. I’m so glad so many of these MacVSOG guys are having their stories documented. First hand accounts of  Shriver are hard to come by. What an absolute fu*king legend.

What a brilliant interview! It’s so important to document these Vietnam legends stories while they’re still with us.

Thank you both for doing this type of videos.  As a historian I think there’s nothing more powerful than first hand accounts from people who were there. Great job
