First I created the world, then the story, then the characters, and then how the characters move through the story. Once I knew what they were going to do, I created the town around how the main character moved through the town and how nature affected it.

Thank you so much for this tutorial. It's going to be really helpful for redesigning my city for my novel. The problem is, it's too big. I'll probably end up only doing the part with the protagonists' locations, but it's still great to see people helping each other. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
