The Lord's Prayer—the most familiar prayer, yet perhaps one we merely memorized at the end of worship. As we re-examine the meaning and importance of the Lord's Prayer, we hope to make it a prayer of practice, committed to realizing God's will in our lives. From calling God "Our Father" to daily bread, forgiveness, and supplication for trials and evil, we explore the meaning of the Lord's Prayer step by step within the context of our daily lives. What kind of prayer is the Lord's Prayer? The Lord's Prayer is not merely a prayer to be memorized at the end of a worship service. It states that when accepted as a resolution to implement the contents of the prayer in our actual lives, the Lord's Prayer can become a prayer that transforms our lives. Q. Is the prayer "Give us our daily bread" necessary even for those who have enough to eat? It makes us realize that there are still neighbors around us who need daily sustenance. Therefore, this prayer does not stop at asking for what is needed for oneself, but becomes a prayer asking whether one can live a life that answers the prayers of others. Q. Is forgiveness unconditionally covering up the other person's wrongdoings? It states that forcing unconditional forgiveness can also be a form of violence, and examines the issues of the restoration of justice and repentance together. At the same time, forgiveness is an act of giving the other person a chance for a new life, and it is also an act of freeing oneself from being held captive by hatred and painful memories. ︾ Your support and prayers are a great source of strength for the production of Jaljalbeop.
